A-Z VOL.2 KERRANG! MAGAZINE REVIEW - KKKK

There were some justifiably raised eyebrows when, in mid-April last year, Ash began their plan of releasing a new single every fortnight for a year. Thankfully, for those not dedicated enough to keep up with the releases, they've also been brought together as two compilation albums (the first instalment was released back in April). Musically, it's brilliant and more experimental than the Ash of old, perhaps due to the bizarre release structure and it not flowing as a normal album. However, amid sprawling 10-minute instrumentals (Sky Burial) and pseudo-disco-funk (Binary), you've still got the chugging fury of Embers and the pop pow of Physical World to prove they've lost none of their melodic abrasive songwriting genius.
